Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has been reporting for more than 45 years focused on people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry reported on wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who is most famous for her work as a reporter on the Today show, a news morning program that was broadcast through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was well-known for her coverage of human rights crises, natural disasters and other emergencies that occurred within war-torn areas. Curry's mom is Japanese and her father was an US Navy Sargent. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents began to meet during her father's service in Japan. Due to her father's service in the military and the frequent moves they made. Curry finished highschool at Ashland Oregon. She earned a journalism degree at The University of Oregon in 1978. Curry along with her husband moved frequently and she didn't be in a single school for over a period of more than two years. The couple moved to various locations such as San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Her final graduation was with honors from Ashland the high school. Her career in broadcasting began with an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford in Oregon. At age 22, she was the first journalist female for the station. She then moved up to anchoring and reporting for KGW which is an affiliate of NBC in Portland. The following year, she relocated back to Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. She was awarded the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
